This is, in fact, part of a "Prayer of Confidence in Mary" by St. Alphonsus. If however, we take the Bible as our guide, we will call on the Lord Jesus and cry, "Lord Jesus I place in you all my hopes; I confide my salvation to your care." For it is written, "Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation" (Isaiah 12:2). And again, "we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe" (I Timothy 4:10); and simply, "Christ Jesus our hope" (1 Timothy 1:1).

I appeal from my heart to all those who place their hope in Mary, and who confine their salvation to her care, to do what Mary did - she entrusted her soul to God, her Saviour! Place all your hope in Christ, the Son of God, who alone is the Mediator and Saviour of mankind. There is no other name given among us by which we must be saved.
